项目摘要

本研究は、外国人子育て家庭、特に移民第一世代の母親に注目し、異国である日本社会で生活基盤を築き「子育て」をするとはどういうことなのか、彼女らの視点や解釈からの「子育て」の経験を明らかにすることを目的としている。平成29（2017）年度に研究を開始し、（１）先行研究の整理、理論的枠組みの検討を進め、（２）外国人住民、教育、保育等の実務を担っている関係者への聞き取り調査を実施、（３）外国人母親への質問内容の検討及び精査、継続的・半構成的なインタビューのためのメモ・ガイドラインを作成、そして、実際に、（４）外国人母親に調査協力を依頼、（５）聞き取り調査を行っている。（５）聞き取り調査では、スリランカ、タイ、ネパール及びベトナムの出身、また共働き、専業主婦、滞在年数の長い、短いなど、異なるバックグラウンド、環境下にある母親にインタビューをすることができている。平成31（2019）年2月末から令和2（2020）年4月末まで研究を中断していたが、令和2年5月に再開した。令和2年度、令和3（2021）年度、そして令和4（2022）年度も、引き続き新型コロナウイルス感染症（COVID-19）の感染拡大、行動制限等の影響を受けたが、その中においても、オンライン等の新しいツールを使うことで、より広くまた高い頻度で、神奈川県内において外国人の子育てを支援している団体や個人との関わり続けることができ、特に令和4年度には、新たな関わり等も増やすことができた。令和4年12月には、これまでの研究成果を学会にて発表、また令和5（2023）年3月には、研究ノートとしても整理、公表した。
