This study, focusing in the marginal and poor mountain areas of the eastern part of Tajikistan and southern part of Kyrgyz after the 1991 independence from the former Soviet Union, clarified the status of the consumption of natural resources such as large herbivores and shrub trees, examined the transformation of land use (especially, summer and winter pastures) and the status of the primitive tourism, and identified the increased wolf-livestock conflict. Further, this study discussed about possibilities in the development of geo-ecotourism for sustainable use or conservation of the natural resources.

这项研究聚焦于1991年脱离前苏联后塔吉克斯坦东部和吉尔吉斯斯坦南部的边缘贫困山区，澄清了大型草食动物和灌木树等自然资源的消耗状况，考察了土地利用的变化(特别是夏季和冬季牧场)和原始旅游业的状况，并确定了日益加剧的狼畜冲突。此外，本研究还探讨了可持续利用或保护自然资源的地质生态旅游发展的可能性。
