The aim of the proposal is to further improve and sustainably maintain the activities of the Alfred Wegener Institute (AWI) for making all research results available in Open Access. Concrete steps on the way to this goal are:1. Introducing improved monitoring of (especially decentralized) publication costs through a newly introduced workflow for registering publications;2. Introducing improved monitoring of publication outputs through the Research Information System;3. Organizationally embedding these technical systems through revising the publication policy, and4. Culturally supporting the OA transformation through instruction and training.This proposal supports these aims by financially supporting the publication funds, which has been well received by researchers, improving acceptance of the OA strategy and the supporting organizational and technical measures within AWI's scientific sections.
