Fulda University of Applied Sciences already promotes Open Access through a variety of measures (e.g. DFG-funded Open Access publication fund, DEAL contracts, fund for Open Access books). The aim of the project "Open Access Publication Costs / 2022 - 2023" is to further develop these structures according to the requirements of the ongoing Open Access transformation. By taking advantage of the DFG's financial subsidy for Open Access costs, Fulda University of Applied Sciences would like to (1) further develop the existing structures and workflows for financing publications in the direction of an (integrated) information budget; (2) better record the amount and origin of previously unrecorded decentralized funding for publications; (3) connect publication-supporting services beyond the Open Access publication services at the University and State Library Fulda. Moreover, the creation of structures for monitoring OA costs only seems to be effective if accompanied by a corresponding development of competencies.
