项目摘要

現在われわれは、9本の身装データベースを作成している。データの種類は、文字、画像および文書画像であり、データの合計件数は約20万件である。これらのデータベースを利用して、約3万件収録予定の『身装専門電子事典』の作成を目的とする。そのためには、各用語の説明、用例、写真・図版および文献が必要条件としてあげられる。すなわち、9本のうちの身装用語データベース『コスチュームサイクロペディア』と、その他8つのデータベースを有機的に関連づけることによって、本事典を作成する。なお、本事典作成のためのシステムとして、横断検索機能をそなえたシステムを、1995〜1997年度の研究分担者、国立民族学博物館久保正敏教授、立命館大学八村広三郎教授によってすでに開発ずみである。「身装」の概念にふくまれる画像データの種類は、以下の3つにわけることができる。1) 博物館等所蔵標本資料としての衣服など。または実用から切り離されたモノとしての衣服など。2) 扮装あるいは、撮影を目的にモデル等が着装している状態。3) 実生活のなかで、生活者が実際に着装している状態。1)と2)に属する画像は比較的単純な画像であるため、必要に応じて、『身装専門電子事典』の直接のデータとすることができる。しかし、3)に属する画像は風俗資料としての性質を備えており、ひとつの画面のなかにいろいろなモティーフが含まれている。そのため、本事典の直接のデータとはならないが、それぞれの画像に含まれる様々なモティーフが、本事典で必要とするデータに該当する場合が少なくない。しかし、これら3)に属する画像から、あるモティーフを選択し、事典用のデータとして適当かどうかを判断するのは途方もない時間を必要とするし、非能率な作業である。そこで、この風俗資料としての性質を持つ画像の整理をまず行ったほうが合理的であると判断した。こうすることにより、これら風俗資料としての性質をそなえるデータの全件(約6万件)の分析が完了すれば、『身装専門電子事典』用のデータのためだけではなく、ある「情景」のなかに存在する身装画像事例データベースの作成へもつなげることができる。このような理由から、今年度は、3)に属する画像データを検索するための、検索項目のあり方を明かにした。「身装」を風俗的現実としてとらえるには、特定の環境の設定が不可欠である。すなわち、ある情景の一部として描かれている(写されている)人の姿をどのように分析し、それを検索キーへとつなげるのかということが、風俗にかかる「身装」画像の内容分析において大きな問題となる。このために「情景検索」ともいうべき検索法の、検索項目の設定についてのアイデアを提案した。その結果、12の検索項目を設定し、さらに画像データの内容分析のための〈情景概念画像コード表〉を作成した。
