项目摘要

本研究の目的は、17世紀の宮廷御用絵師・土佐光起の画作の特徴と活動実態を明らかにすることである。土佐派は南北朝時代に成立して以来、室町時代および江戸時代前期から幕末まで宮廷絵所預の地位を継承し、やまと絵制作の中核を担った。ところが江戸時代の御用絵師の多くはその芸術的価値が長らく認められず、光起に関してもいくつかの作品研究はあるものの、いまだ重要作例の詳細な調査・分析が不十分で、画業の全体像や画風、落款・印章の変遷が明らかにされていない。申請者は、現存する光起作例の網羅的かつ体系的な作品調査・研究を目指している。そこで本年度は以下の作業を行った。1.現存作品のデータ収集：土佐光起の現存作品の情報と画像を、展覧会図録や調査報告書などから収集した。年度末の段階で計180点にのぼっており、今後の近世土佐派研究における基礎的データとなるものと考えられる。またこれを踏まえて今後個別に調査・研究すべき重要な作品をピックアップした。2.落款・印章の整理：収集した作品のうち重要なものを中心として、落款・印章の整理を行った。結果として、新たに画業早期における落款・印章の特徴を捉えることに成功した。翻って、これまで制作時期不明とされた作品のうち、落款書体の特徴から早期と位置付けるべき作品を10点確認した。3.「粟穂鶉図屏風」（東京国立博物館蔵）をめぐる研究：重要な研究対象の一つである「粟穂鶉図屏風」について、その制作背景を考察するため、伝来した会津松平家の記録『家世実紀』を通覧した。『家世実紀』からは本屏風についての情報は得られなかったものの、会津松平家から土佐光起に発注された作品の記録を一点新たに見出し、両者の直接的な関係を裏付けることができた。また、この屏風左隻の景観について再検討を行った。

The purpose of this study is to explore the characteristics and activities of the paintings of Mitsuki Tosa, the imperial court teacher of the 17th century. The Tosa faction has been in charge of the central task since its establishment in the Northern and Southern Dynasties, the Muromachi period and the early Edo period. A detailed investigation and analysis of important works of the imperial master of the Edo period, the overall image of the painting industry, the style of painting, the inscription, the change of seal, and the change of painting style. The applicant shall provide guidance on the investigation and research of the works of the existing Guangqi example collection system. This year, the following activities were carried out. 1. Collection of existing works: information and portraits of Tosa Mitsuki's existing works, exhibition records and survey reports At the end of the year, 180 points were counted, and the future of Tosa School research was based on the examination of the situation. This is the first time I've ever done this. 2.
