研究実績の概要を、災害用データベース(1)〜(2)、災害情報通信(3)、災害情報システムのシステム分析(4)〜(5)という5つの項目について以下に示す。(1)災害時に不可欠な地域医療情報のデータベースを構築した。データベースは、どこでも手軽に使用できるよう、パーソナルコンピュータの上で機能できるものとし、データの内容は緊急時にまず必要となる地域の病院名、所在地、ベッド数、医師数、医療項目等である。このデータベースを種々の要求を想定して使用実験し、その有効性、問題点を明らかにした。(2)災害時のような緊急の場合、人間の判断はかなり不確実となるので、判断をバックアップする機能として、(1)のデータベースに知識工学で使用されるプロダクションシステムを導入して知識ベースを作成し、加えて意思決定支援型データベースの効果を調べた。(3)災害時の通信網として、地上の回線と衛星とを有効に接続し、地上の負担を軽くすることが可能な衛星上で信号処理を行う再生中継衛星を提案した。また、異常時における伝送特性を解析的に検討し、従来のシステムとの比較により特性が優れていることを明らかにした。(4)災害情報システムを運用する上で、人間がシステムに対してどのような役割をするかが重要な要素となる。そこで、このようなマン・マシン系における人間の行動を分析した。またこの行動を知識工学的にルール化し、モデル化することによって、人間のシステム制御の機能をどれだけ機械で代替できるか調べた。(5)災害情報システムによる情報伝達での、情報の形態の評価研究を行った。情報形態として、人間にわかりやすいのは言語的形態と図形的形態であり、前者にはファジィ理論が、後者にはシステム工学のグラフ表現等が使えることを明らかにした。
