昭和60年度の研究実績は以下のとおりである。(1)全体集会昭和60年7月5日、6日、北海道大学において全員による研究討論会を開催した。A,D班から9件、B,C班から9件の分担者が選ばれて、研究の現状報告を行った。また、北大戸田教授(文学部)から認知科学に関する研究の現状を構じてもらった。また、文部省武田学術調査官から、最近の特定研究採用の方針等について説明を受けた。全体で70名を越す出席者があり、きわめて盛会であった。昭和60年9月26日、27日、日本学術会議講堂において「知識情報処理シンポジウム」を開催し、本特定研究の研究成果の一部を外部に披露した。情報処理学会「知識工学と人工知能研究会」、「学術会議情報工学研究連絡委員会」との共催であったため、一般研究発表7件を含めた。また、5件の講演も行った、本特定研究に関しては、班長が各班の研究現状のとりまとめを行った。また、各班を代表して、4人の分担者が自分の分担課題の総合報告を行った。(2)総括班会議北大における全体研究集会の際(60年7月5日)、60年9月10日、61年1月17日、18日に開催した。最終回の会議で、61年度の総合活動計画を検討し、61年9月下旬に全体研究集会、62年3月に報告のための全体集会を開催することに決定した。(3)その他本特定研究の内容を広くPRするため、59年度の報告集をまとめて、"Recent Advancement of Knowledge-Based Information Processing in Japan"というタイトルの英文論文(7ページ)として発表した。
