The aim of this research was to arrive at a broad understanding of the importance the training of engineers plays in a a new industrial society with a high level of technology. Issues of this sort are usually confused and it is impossible to realize what kind of problem is to be studied and what kind of solution is necessary. This project, therefore, has employed one particular structural model used for industrial analysis, i.e. ISM (Interpretative Structural Modeling) to study a model of the structure of problems related to this issue. This research project centered on the following points,1. Decision making of confused issues and its relation with system engineering, and policy making process. 2. The changes in production and technology within new industry and the way they were carried out. 3. Research into the definitive problems of technical education at all levels and the building of a structural model of their problem issues.The detailed information about the above are printed in the report. Also, the research of point 2 above was conducted directly in an automotive production plant; the social influences of the introduction of robots and similar apparatus was studied, especially the problems of employment and retraining were considered. The results were given in an international symposium of IFAC (International Federation of Automatic Control). The model delineated in point 3 above, involved repeated work on various subjects because of individual differences and problems of interpretation. This issue still needs some improvements and has been ear marked as the next research project.

这项研究的目的是为了达到一个广泛的理解的重要性，工程师的培训发挥在一个新的工业社会与高水平的技术。这类问题通常是混乱的，不可能认识到要研究什么样的问题，需要什么样的解决方案。因此，本课题采用了产业分析中使用的一种特殊的结构模型ISM（Interpretative Structural Modeling）来研究与该课题相关的问题的结构模型。本研究主要围绕以下几个方面展开：1.模糊问题的决策及其与系统工程的关系，决策过程。2.新工业中生产和技术的变化及其实施方式。3.对各级技术教育的决定性问题进行研究，并建立其问题的结构模型，有关上述问题的详细信息载于报告。此外，上述第2点的研究是在汽车制造工厂直接进行的，研究了机器人等设备引进的社会影响，特别是考虑了就业和再培训问题。结果在IFAC（国际自动控制联合会）的一次国际研讨会上给出。上文第3点所述的模式，由于个体差异和解释问题，涉及对各种主题的重复工作。本课题尚需进一步完善，已被列为下一个研究课题。
