Lower and Upper Burma are different with each other,not only in natural environments,but also in historical heritages and cultural settings.The purpose of our study is to conduct studies in some areas in Lower Burma and to make clear different features between Lower and Upper Burma.In order to attain this aim,we have made a historical research(ancient documents,historical sites,other historical data and linguistic studies),a study on the traditional culture(festivals,customs,and so on),a study on the traditional agriculture(technology,form and structure),and also we have made the same studies in Upper Burma.Based on these studies,we were going to cultivate a better understanding of the Burmese history and culture.

下缅甸和上缅甸不仅自然环境不同，而且历史遗产和文化背景也不同。我们的研究目的是对下缅甸的一些地区进行研究，以明确下缅甸和上缅甸的不同特征。为了达到这一目的，我们进行了历史研究（古代文献、历史遗迹、其他历史资料和语言研究），传统文化研究（节日、风俗等），对传统农业的研究（技术，形式和结构），我们也在上缅甸进行了同样的研究。在这些研究的基础上，我们将培养对缅甸历史和文化的更好的了解。
