AN INVESTIGATION OF ALGAL FLORA IN ALASKAN ARCTIC LAKES

合作研究是1)详细阐明阿拉斯加北极和亚北极湖泊的藻类植物区系和一些相关的化学和物理性质；2)搜索和鉴定阿拉斯加湖泊中未描述的微小藻类；3)调查藻类对北极湖泊极端寒冷条件的响应；4)通过比较两国共同的北方生物的特征，明确阿拉斯加北极和亚北极湖泊和日本温带湖泊藻类植物区系的各自特点。

The cooperative research is 1) to clarify in detail the algal flora and some associated chemical and physical properties of Alaskan arctic and subarctic lakes, 2) to search and identify undescribed minute algae in Alaskan lakes, 3) to investigate the response of algae to the extremely cold conditions in arctic lakes, 4) to make clear each distinctive feature of algal flora in Alaskan arctic and subarctic lakes and Japanese temperate lakes by comparing characteristics of boreal organisms which are common to both countries.
