项目摘要

本研究は昭和63年3月に申請した昭和64年度発足重点領域研究「新パラダイムによるソフトウェア構成法に関する基礎研究」の準備、調査、研究などのために申請した総合研究(B)であったが、その重点領域研究がヒアリングの結果、不採択になったため、計画の不十分な点を反省し、申請書の記述の至らなかった部分を見直し、さらにソフトウェア科学の分野で重点的に研究すべき主題や内容を深くつめ、新年度に向け新しい重点領域研究の申請ができるように検討することを本研究の目標とした。研究代表者、研究分担者及び招待者で何度か集まり、検討を重ねた結果、わが国におけるソフトウェア科学の研究は一応優れた結果も出てはいるものの、いかにも大学で作ったと評価されるようなユニークなソフトウェアシステムについていえば、やはりまだアメリカの大学に及ばないことを遺憾ながら認めざるを得ず、我々の検討中の分野の研究をますます強力にすすめることが不可欠であるとの結論に至り、平成2年度発足の重点領域研究「高機能高品質ソフトウェアの構成原理に関する研究」を申請しようという結論を得た。討論を経てまとめられた申請の骨子、及び申請をまとめるに至る討議過程の一部とともに、討論、討議に参加した代表者、分担者、招待者が議論の基礎となったプログラミングパラダイム、ソフトウェア工学、プログラム言語などにつき、考えの一端を示すべく寄稿した論説類で報告書を構成した。
