Linux-Cluster for scientific high performance computing

This proposal summarises the current requirements for scientific high-performance computing of the Research Centre for Scientific Computing at the University of Bayreuth, founded in 2018, which can be met by expanding the HPC Key Lab operated by the BZHPC with a new high-performance Linux cluster. Specifically, the new Linux cluster will be used to conduct computationally intensive research projects in the areas of electronic structure and dynamics, product and process optimisation, dynamics of fluids and soft matter, simulation and analysis of ecosystems, and AI-based analysis of medical data.
