项目摘要

本研究は自然な老化過程のなかで高齢者の視聴覚機能の減退に着目し、このような機能減退が引き起こす高齢者の情報受容力の低下とそれを補う設計の方向性を探ることを目的としている。高齢者が老化によって視覚機能および聴覚機能が変化すること、すなわち視界が黄変化し、可聴域(特に高音域)が狭められることが、既に知られている。このような減退により、高齢者の情報環境は青年のそれと比較して著しく劣化していると言えよう。地域の生活空間において、高齢者の視聴覚機能減退を補償する方向でサイン計画などの情報環境を設計して行くことは、高齢者の社会参加を維持していく上でも非常に重要である。前年度は基礎的な資料の収集に努めるとともに、機能減退をシミュレートするための、色彩および音声データのフイルタリングの方法について試行錯誤を重ねた。今年度は引き続きシミュレータの開発を行うとともに、色彩環境については、実際の都市空間におけるサイン(案内標識)について、色彩測定と画像の撮影による現地調査をおこなった。サインに使われている色の分布や、組み合わせなどを分析するとともに、調査によって得られた画像データをコンピュータに取り込み、黄変化フイルタによって色彩を変換して、高齢者の視覚によるサインの見え方をシミュレートした。
