昨年度の考察から得られた車いす使用化の指標である「評価フイルター」を、実際の住宅に適用るため、大分県社会福祉協議会を通じて紹介された要介護高齢者在住の住宅(約40件)に対して、調査を行い、この評価を行った。調査の結果、既存の一般住宅において、「評価フイルター」設定のために参照した既住研究の推奨値を採用した場合、車いすの使用可能性は著しく低いという判定となるが、現実には無理をしてでも使用されている実態が明らかになった。このため、厳しい条件下で行為遂行されていた結果を反映させた指標の再設定を行い、「評価フイルター」をより現実的なものに接近させた。また、上記実態調査において同時に、高齢者への介護の実態調査を行った。それによると介助の程度は生活行為の種類に応じて異なり、また、それらは、高齢者の身体状況(自立度)とも相関がみられることが考察された。排泄行為については、比較的軽度の状態からポータブルトイレの使用率が高まり、入浴はかなり重度の高齢者に対しても、介助による浴室での行為遂行傾向が強い。さらに、車いすの使用は屋内外に拘らず中程度の高齢者に集中しており、そのニーズの高いことが窺えるが、今回の考察によって得られた住宅改造を行うことによって、その使用率はさらに向上し、また、より高度な障害を持つ高齢者においても、介護負担の軽減による使用促進が図れることが想定される。以上の知見を基に、車いす使用化のための対象住宅に対する各室個別の評価と総合的評価の可能なフローを作成し、居住者のニーズに応じた改造提案が可能なシステムの枠組みを構築し、具体的な適用例を提示した。
