In the first year, the work station system, i.e., TOSHIBA AS4080, was settled as a main equipment of this research project. The UNIX system was installed on this system and some software was also loaded to run the FORTRAN program and exchange the information with other researchers via 'Internet' .In the second year, an FEM program for analyzing the groundwater behavior was examined on the developed system. Such a program was improved and included in the analysis system.In the third year, an inverse analysis system was developed for indetifying a set of parameters based on field measurements. An applicability of this system to a practical design of underground dam was examined through a hypothetical/actual example. Finally, we summarized the results.
