STUDIES OF RESEARCH ORGANIZATION OF AREA STUDIES IN EUROPE

In United Kingdom, Germany and Netherland, K.Sasaki, S.Tanabe and M.Matsubara carried out the research of the present situation of area studies. We visited to several centers and institutes for area studies (Fachbereich Orientalistik, Universitat Hanburg, Fachbereich Asien und Afrikan-wissenschaft, Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin, Institute of Asian Affairs, Ibero-Amerikanishes Institut Preussischer Kulturbesitz in Germay ; African Studies Center, University of Cambridge, Middle East and Asian Studies Center, University of Oxford, Centres of Area studies, School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London in United Kingdom) ; Center of Non-Western Studies, Leiden University, International Institute for Asian Studies in Netherland).Most organizations deeply relate to college and postgraduate education. At the present time, in these countries we cannot find the independent research institute for area studies which specialize in all area of the world.
