项目摘要

実験は、延べにして3歳児45名、4歳児56名、5歳児73名の、計174人の被験児に対して、個別に行われた。まず、被験児が他者や自分が抱いている誤信念を理解しているか否かを検査するため、予期せぬ場所の置き換え1つと見せかけの外観2つの計2種類3つの誤信念課題を施行した。次に、被験児が信念の情報源を特定できるか否かを検査するために、トンネルの中においたものの性質を知るにはその対象物を見る必要があるのか触る必要があるのかを判断させるトンネル課題を4つ施行した。さらに、この信念の課題の前後に、具象物もしくはなぐり書きの各15項目からなる記憶材料のリストが、各被験児に対して提示された。この3種類の信念課題、2種類の記憶材料の学習ののち、約7日後に、先に学習した具象物となぐり書きの各15個旧項目がそれぞれ同数の新項目と混ぜられて提示され、2種類の記憶材料の再認検査が行われた。さらに先に施行された計3種類の信念課題内で使用された玩具計10個が20個の新項目の玩具と混ぜられて提示され、玩具の再認検査が施行された。最後に、各被験児に対して絵画語彙発達検査が施行され、その言語年齢が測定された。分析の結果、2種類の誤信念課題における他者の誤信念の理解は、生後4歳以降に発達すること、自己の誤信念の理解は、他者の誤信念の理解よりも幼児にとっては困難であることが示された。また、シンネル課題における信念の情報源の特定は、たとえ5歳になっても完全には発達していないことが明らかになった。さらに、語彙年齢の部分相関を取り除いても、記憶材料の相違に関わらず、エピソード的な再認記憶が信念課題の遂行と相関関係があることが示された。従って、幼児の心の理論の発達は、エピソード記憶の発達と深く関連していることが示唆された。
