英文摘要
Results obtained from long-term monitoring studies in large-scale plots situated in various forest types revealed that ; 1) natural disturbance had an important role on structure and dynamics of forest communities, 2) responses of constituent species differed with the types of natural disturbances, 3) there was a close relationship between topographic patterns and local vegetation pattern, and 4) partitioning of regeneration niche among constituent species could be clrified. Safe sites of seedling recruitment were identified for tree species whose seed and seedling studies were investigated. Matrix models for describing tree population dynamics were constructed and used to analyze structure and dynamics of forest communities. Home page on the long-term large-scale studies for forest communities was made on the Internet.
