This book is intended to give an overview of the state of the art in the philosophy of causation. It collect considerably revised papers presented at a workshop in Konstanz in December 10-12, 1998. In order to represent all the aspects that are treated in the philosophy of causation, the papers include considerations within an specific framework for a metaphysics of causation (such as a regularity theory or a prebabilistic view in terms of causes raising the chances of their effects) as well as the relevance of physics, in particular quantum mechanics.
