项目摘要

1.『文学論』における「集合的F」概念を検討した結果、群衆が「暗示」や「感染」に支配されるとのル・ボンの学説や社会は「模倣」なりとのタルドの社会心理学の理論の影響が明らかになった。漱石は『文学論』第5編で、「集合的F」理解のための参考図書の一冊としてル・ボン著『社会主義の心理学』を推賞しているが、図書を詳細に検討しても、『文学論』で重要な役割をはたしている「暗示」や「模倣」の概念に触れている箇所はない。この事実から、漱石は別の著書からル・ボンやタルドの学説を知り、その間接的知識に基づいて「集合的」の概念を構築したとの推論を行った。2.ル・ボンの文明論の『それから』への影響を指摘した。3.「現代日本の開化」における近代日本の文明に関する漱石の視点が、ル・ボンの『社会主義の心理学』の、とりわけ近代日本の運命に触れている箇所の読書体験のなかから育まれたのではないかとの推論を行った。4.社会主義思想に対する漱石の関心がどのようなものであったかを『社会主義の心理学』に対する反応を検討することを通して推測した。5.現在、ロンブロ-ゾ著『天才と狂気』やボールドウィン著『精神発達の社会的・倫理的解釈』が漱石に与えた影響を検討しつつある。特に、ロンブロ-ゾの天才論が『文学論』に与えた影響、文明の進歩における「天才」の役割に関する漱石の考えをどのように理解するかなどの点を考察しつつある。6.5の作業を終えた後、ボールドウィンと漱石作品の関係を検討する予定。7.1で触れた、ル・ボンやタルドの学説の情報源となった著書も、引き続き探索する予定。
