The Behavior modification approach for the elderly

本研究旨在借由行为治疗与老年医学的文献，分析老年人行为治疗的发展趋势。这些文献选自《美国行为治疗与老年学杂志》。老年人行为治疗主要分为3类：（1）事前刺激，（2）应急管理，（3）一揽子治疗，主要是通过行为矫正技术来恢复老年人的言语行为。这位老人是一位87岁的老妇人，过去8年来一直住在养老院。当她到达养老院时，她能够口头表达自己，与其他居民和养老院的statf交谈。可是现在，她不能说话，也不和任何人说话。当她口头表达自己时，治疗师立即给予她口头表扬和身体接触作为应急管理。在治疗实施六个月后，这位妇女开始比以前更多地用语言表达自己。即通过案例说明，在老年人的言语训练和行为矫正中，应采用行为矫正技术。

It was aimed at first to analyze the trends of the behavior therapy for the elderly with the literature of behavior therapy and gerontology. The literature was chosen in the american journal of behavior therapy and gerontology. It became clear through the literature that behavior therapy for the elderly was divided into3 categories : (1)antecedent stimulus, (2)contigency managements, (3)package treatments.It was practiced at the reinstatement of the verbal behavior in an elderly person using behavior modification technique. The elderly person was an 87 years old woman who has been living in a nursing home for the past eight years. When she arrived at the nursing home, she was able to express herself verbally, talking with the other residents and the statf of the nursing home. However, now she could not speak and did not talk with anyone. When she expressed herself verbally, the therapist immediately gave her verbal praise and physical contact as contigency managements. After the therapy had been implemented for six months, the woman began to express herself verbally more than she had done before. Namely, it was shown from the case that the behavior modification technique should be used in the verbal training and behavior modification for the aged.
