Structure and Policies of the Middle East Economy : the comparative study on Iran, Egypt and Syria

这项研究的主要目的是分别考察伊朗、埃及和叙利亚的经济政策，然后对它们进行比较，以更清楚地了解这三个国家共同拥有的经济和社会结构。奇怪的是，中东国家中没有一个国家从未实现过经济增长和成功，尽管有很大的潜力。据说，该地区的经济失败是由于社会的落后或管理不善。然而，这不仅仅是原因。失败的原因在于东西方冷战的格局以及二战后美国倡导的发展政策，因此，本研究强调了以下三点。首先是找出经济结构的性质，这种结构比经济发达的国家更好。第二是审查结构调整政策的细节及其对这三个国家社会的消极和积极影响。三是解释传统社会网络在伊斯兰社会中的作用，传统社会网络支持了因发展政策而恶化的人们的生活。

The main purpose of this study is to examine the economic policies of Iran, Egypt and Syria individually and then compare them in order to make clearer the economic and social structure, which these three nations have possessed commonly.It is strange enough that none of the Middle East countries has never attained an economic growth and success, although there is the big potentiality to do so. It is said that the economic failure of the region is due to the backwardness of the societies or mismanagement. However, it is not only the reason. The reason of the failure had been in the structure of the cold-war between the East and West as well as the development policies initiated by the U.S. after the W.W.II.Therefore, this study has emphasized the following three points. The first is to find out the nature of the economic structure, that had been constructed preferably to the economically advanced countries. The second is to examine the details of the structural adjustment policies and their negative and affirmative effects on societies in these three countries. The third is to explain the role of the traditional social network in Islamic society, which has supported the people life having been deteriorated by the development policies.
