The Development of the Nursing Intervention Model in Promoting Sexuality in the Chronically Ill Older Adults

【 Purpose 】 The aim of this study was to develop a nursing intervention model in promoting sexuality in the chronically ill older adults. For this purpose, there were three concrete objectives : (1) basic research into clarifying the effects of chronically ill on older adults sexuality ; (2) to develop a nursing intervention model in promoting sexuality of the chronically ill older adults on basic research and review of the literature. On the other hand, The effects of the staff-education program were evaluated at the time of the initial examination, 2 weeks later after the initial examination concerning the nurse's attitudes to sexuality, the nurse's attitudes and knowledge regarding sexuality in older adult with chronic illness.【 Results 】 A total of twenty-nine older adults (10 applied group, 19 controls ) were studied. The average scores of apologetic feeling in interaction with others was significantly higher in the applied group (p<.05).
