Social Psychological Research on Okinawan Shamanism

对冲绳萨满教的社会心理学研究的主要发现如下：1.通过对萨满育他的成长过程的个案分析，发现萨满教中建立了一种信仰疗愈。信仰疗愈可以与现代医学相媲美，尤其是精神病院。通过对50名家庭主妇的采访，分析了萨满尤塔斯在社区中的作用。他们对鱼塔的依赖与他们整个生命周期的社会化过程有关。萨满教的三个方面，即(A)宇宙论(=土著宗教)，(B)规范(=习惯继承法)，和(C)治愈技术(=信仰治愈)是重要的。许多人从冲绳群岛移民到南美洲。我们对巴西萨满尤塔人的调查发现，萨满尤塔人有三种类型：(A)传统型，(B)电化型，(C)混合型。总而言之，萨满是社区中的一种咨询者，萨满教是一种应对危机和问题情境的文化体系。

The main findings from social psychological research on Okinawan shamanism are as follows :1. By the case sutudies of shaman Yuta's initiation processes, it was found that a kind of faith healing is built in shamanism. The faith healing can compare favorably with modern medechine, especially with mental hospitals.2. The role of shaman Yutas in communities was analized by the interviews of fifty house wives. Their dependence on Yuta is connected with their socialization processes over life cycle. The three aspects of shamanism, i.e. (a) cosmology (= indigenous religion), (b) norm (= customary succession law), and (c) curing technique(= faith healing) is important.3. Many people immigranted from Okinawan islands to South America. Our investigation on the shaman Yutas in Brasil ascertained the three types of Yutas ; (a) traditional type, (b) electic type, and (c) blended type.In a word, the shamans are a kind of counseller in community, and shamanism is the cultural coping system with crisises and problem situations.
