项目摘要

1.「古代権力の儀礼空間の構造とその変遷についての研究」として、主に古代の宮都・国府・郡家などの官衙における儀礼をめぐって、古代権力の儀礼空間に関する史料を収集し、合わせて古代官衙遺跡における発掘調査成果の資料収集を行なった。2.とくに古代において中央から派遣される地方官であり、国家を代表して地方の豪族や民衆と対峙した国司に焦点をあて、国司が関わった様々な儀礼について、史料や遺跡を検討、整理した。その結果、(1)国司をめぐる儀礼の構造として、政務・儀式とともに饗宴が一体となっており、中央政府と地方豪族の間における服属関係や官人意識の再確認・再生産に大きな役割を果たしたこと、(2)国司をめぐる儀礼の場として国府の国庁や国司館が存在し、国庁が聖域的な性格を維持したのに対して、国司館が饗宴などに利用しやすい性格をもったこと、(3)国司をめぐる儀礼の場が、八世紀後期以降になると、次第に国庁から国司館へと移行していったこと、(4)その変遷は、宮都における政務と饗宴の場としての朝堂院と豊楽院との二重構造が、国府においても実現する過程となることができるのではないか、という見通しを得た。3.今後も、収集した歴史史料や考古学的な発掘調査成果の資料にもとづいて、官衙のみでなく寺院や城館などをふくめて、各レベルの古代権力がもった儀礼のための空間についてさらに研究を進めたい。
