The purpose of this research project was to research into the present situation of the preparedness for the introduction of the Euro in Europe (particularly in Germany) and the tasks accompaning the introduction of the Euro, and to investigate how the introduction of the Euro will have influence upon the European Economy and European Integration.According to my resarch, the preparation for the introducition of the Euro in private enterprises (particularly small and medium seized company) and public sectors is relatively late. On the other hand, the preparation in the financial institutions and financial markets (ex.the stock exchanges) is fast. With the birth of the Euro, it is presumed that the keen competition among the financial instituions and financial markets will start in European and global scale.It is no doubt that the third stage of EMU will start from 1.1.1999.on schedule. But, after the introduction of the Euro starts, the european companies will have to deal with a large number of tasks, from change of the software of computer and accounting system down. Thanks to the birth of the Euro, the single market is nearer completion. But new tasks like harmonization of tax (Vat, comany tax, withholding tax etc.) and company law surface too. In addition, the members countries have many difficulties, like enlargement of EU to central and eastern Europe, to contend with.Based on the results of this research project, I'm going to investigate the influence of the Euro upon the european and world economy in more detail. Concerning the former, I will research whether or how the coming Euro could contribute to make the labor market of Europe more flexible. The flexibility of labor market is regarded as the key point to resolve mass unemployment in Europe. Concerning the latter, I will investigate how the birth of the Euro will influence the international monetary and financial system.

本研究项目的目的是研究欧洲为引入欧元所做的准备工作的现状（特别是德国）和引入欧元后的任务，以及引入欧元对欧洲经济和欧洲一体化的影响。在私营企业（特别是中小型公司）和公共部门采用欧元的准备工作相对较晚。另一方面，金融机构和金融市场（如证券交易所）的准备工作很快。随着欧元的诞生，金融机构和金融市场之间的激烈竞争将在欧洲乃至全球范围内展开，欧洲货币联盟第三阶段将于1999年1月1日如期启动。但是，在欧元开始引入后，欧洲公司将不得不处理大量的任务，从计算机软件和会计系统的变化。由于欧元的诞生，单一市场更接近完成。但新的任务，如税收协调（增值税，公司税，预扣税等）公司法也浮出水面。此外，欧盟成员国还面临着欧盟扩大到中东欧等诸多困难。笔者将根据本课题的研究结果，详细探讨欧元对欧洲乃至世界经济的影响。关于前者，我将研究即将到来的欧元是否或如何有助于使欧洲劳动力市场更加灵活。劳动力市场的灵活性被认为是解决欧洲大规模失业问题的关键。关于后者，我将探讨欧元的诞生将如何影响国际货币和金融体系。
