项目摘要

The purpose of this study was to clarify the direction and method to improve the education of veterinary medicine in Japan. The major problems examined in this study are as follows.(1) Purpose of the veterinary education, and its relationship to other field of science including animal breeding.(2) Method of veterinary education, including curriculum, teaching methods, evaluation of accomplishment, thesis, quality and number of teachers, facilities and equipments, evaluation of education system from outside of the college.(3) Urgent ways and means to improve undergraduate education in national, public and private universities.(4) Urgent ways and means to improve education at the East and West United Graduate Schools.(5) Establishment of self and external evaluation system for veterinary education.(6) Methods for publicity of importance of veterinary education.To perform this study, following investigations were practiced.(1) The self-evaluation of all the veterinary colleges.(2) Questionnaire to the high school students willing admission to the veterinary schools.(3) Survey at the foreign veterinary schools.Our conclusions are as follows.We need a drastic improvement of our veterinary education system as follows.(1) Increase in number of teachers per college.(2) Reappraisal of the curriculum.(3) Renewal of the teaching methods.(4) Periodical practice of self-evaluation of education.(5) Periodical evaluation of education by external intellectuals.
本研究旨在明确提高日本兽医教育的方向和方法。本研究探讨的主要问题有:(1)兽医教育的目的及其与包括动物育种在内的其他科学领域的关系。(2)兽医教育的方法,包括课程设置、教学方法、成绩评价、论文、师资质量和数量、设施设备、校外教育体系评价。(3)改进全国本科教育的迫切途径和手段。公立和私立大学。(4)改善东西方联合研究生院教育的迫切途径和方法。(5)建立兽医教育的自我和外部评估体系。(6)宣传兽医教育重要性的方法。为进行本研究,调查结果如下:(1)所有兽医院校的自我评价。(2)对愿意进入兽医院校的高中生的问卷调查。(3)国外兽医学校的调查。我们的结论如下:(1)增加每所兽医院校的教师数量;(2)重新评价课程;(3)更新教学方法。(4)定期自我评价教育。(5)定期评估外部知识分子的教育。
