1. The final research report has been completed under the project stnicture specified below.Introduction I. The Raising of Academic Ability in Social Studies Aiming for Transition and Application Skills, V. Improvement and Refinement in the Evaluation of Social Studies, VI. Sample Questions Developed for Written Tests ○ Conclusion2. There are over 100 sample questions developed for the written test with the cooperation of writers and researchers (24 members), however there were only a little over 20 questions that had measured up to the intentions of the development. They are categorized as follows:(1) Sample questions that can break away from the case study and that are able to make transition, application and development.(2) Sample questions that enable comparison and application while conforming to the case study(3) Sample questions that question the method and technology of the inquiry(4) Sample questions that took in a new viewpoint in the questioning method3. We were able to stock up on written test questions by researchers that have been cooperating in this project aiming for development. Enlightenment was made reciprocally between the head teachers of the social studies departments in junior high schools located in Fukuoka and Aomori, and the knowledge gained was passed down to teachers at the educational sites. The cooperative structure between the university and the head teachers of the social studies departments has been strengthened.
