项目摘要

本研究は情報機器利用に関する発達的特徴とこれからの時代に適した情報教育の内容を検討するための基礎的研究として、(1)乳幼児期から児童期にかけての情報機器の接触経験と、AV機器の図記号(EIAJ:CP-105A)の理解についての実態調査、(2)幼稚園や保育園における情報機器の導入に対する保育者の意識調査、(3)幼児のパソコン利用における入力デバイスの適切性についての調査を行った。研究(1)については、1歳児の段階でテレビのリモコン操作が可能であるというケースが多く確認された。具体的には、ボタン操作による画面変化を楽しむことから始め、その後、ON/OFFなどの単純操作が可能になる段階、単一の視聴目的(好きな番組を見るためにON→特定のチャンネルボタン)による2過程までの連続操作が可能な段階などが確認された。3歳児では、テレビのリモコン操作については86.7%が、ビデオのリモコン操作については、再生は50.0%、巻戻しは20.0%、早送りは16.7%が操作可能であることが、実際にリモコンを操作させることによって確認された。この調査で使用したリモコンは自宅のものとは異なると確認していることから、この時期に図記号の識別と利用が可能となってきていることが示唆される。さらに、小学校2年生では7割以上の子どもが図記号のみの提示で、その機能を説明できることが確認された。研究(2)については、保育にパソコン等の新たな情報機器が導入されることについて、1.子どもの心身の発達への影響、II.保育実践利用の意義・方法、III.職員間のコンセンサス、IV.職員のメディアリテラシーの養成の4点が問題であるということが明らかになった。研究(3)では、幼児にパソコンで円描写を行わせたところ、マウスでは始点と終点が会合しにくく下円部の描写が困難であることなどが、ペンタブレットによる描写やクレヨンによる描写と比較して明らかになった。
