本年度は日本社会の階層構造の歴史的変動をミクロレベルで把握するための理論的・方法論的枠組みを整理するとともに、階層構造の変動と相互規定的に進行した階層文化の変容・再編過程を分析するためのデータセット作成作業を遂行した。第1に、戦前期の農業経済学・農村人口論の知見の再分析と戦間期〜戦後の国勢調査の再構成を行なう作業を通じて、農業を典型とする家族就業形態中心の社会から会社員・サラリーマンを典型とする被雇用労働中心の社会へという日本社会の階層構造の歴史的変動を、イエ/世帯から個人が析出される過程として位置づけるとともに、この点をミクロレベルで分析することを課題とする社会移動の歴史社会学的研究の理論的・方法論的枠組みを整理した。その成果の一部を『社会科学研究』誌に公刊した。第2に、前年度から引き続き、階層文化の変容・再編過程を分析するための1つの作業として、建築学者・住宅計画論研究者の西山夘三が1930〜50年代に行なった住み方調査・住宅調査の原票からのデータセット作成作業を遂行した。空間的要素の変数化を含むコーディング体系の構築を可能とする理論的整理を行なうことと並行して入力作業を進めた。第3に、前年度から引き続き、階層文化の変容・再編過程を分析するためのもう1つの作業として、1965年の団地居住者世帯を対象とした生活時間調査の原票からのデータセット作成、および1920年代労働科学的調査以降のNHK国民生活時間調査・総理府社会生活基本調査等の生活時間・労働時間に関する調査結果の.収集作業を遂行した。複雑に錯綜する種々の生活時間のコーディングを整理して、各種の時系列比較や国際比較および独自の多変量解析が可能な変数化・コード化を進めた。本研究の継続的課題として進めてきた第2・第3の研究については、作成されたデータセットの分析結果を、近くまとまった形での研究成果の公表を通じて行なう予定である。
