项目摘要

本年はまず、大名の遊びを中心とした分析を進めた。特に鷹狩や花見・湯治、また武芸などについて、弘前藩津軽家や彦根藩井伊家を事例として取り上げた。また、論文3本と書評1本を発表する機会を得た。論文の1本目は、那須資徳に関するもので、旗本那須家の再興と交代寄合への昇格について分析を行った。そこでは実父津軽信政や幕府実力者柳沢吉保に対する運動が功を奏して叶ったことを明らかにした。相応の運動を展開すれば、限度はあるが、いつかは必ず再興や格が叶うという意識が当時の武家社会の底流にあったと考えられるのである。また、信政が江戸滞在中に運動が展開されていたことも注目に値する点であろう。論拠史料は主に津軽家文書と那須家文書を扱ったが、那須家文書は分析が進められていないばかりではなく、所在自体もあまり知られていない。2本目は旗本遠山金四郎家に関する論文である。前年度に名町奉行として有名な遠山左衛門尉景元に関する論文を発表しているが、これはその続編に相当する。景元の息子景纂と、孫の景彰について、安政二・三年の二年間を対象とした。安政二年は遠山家にとって激動の一年で、景元の死去に続き、景纂も江戸城内で倒れたままその日の内に死去してしまった。その跡目は景彰が相続したが、この年は江戸で安政大地震が起こり、遠山家も被害を受けている。論拠史料は大倉精神文化研究所所蔵の遠山家用人の日記が中心で、知行地のある上総国夷隅郡(現千葉県岬町)や下総国豊田郡(現茨城県下妻市)を訪れ、旧名主家の史料を調査・分析した。3本目は幕末の青年大名井伊直憲の食生活に着目したものである。彦根城博物館に現存する献立日記や周辺史料から、食生活と行動について分析を進めた。
