本年度は、秋田県由利地方から山形県庄内地方、新潟県北部にかけての、いわゆる「由利庄内北越方言圏」の以下の地点において、文法化現象に関する調査を行った。[調査地点]・秋田県本荘市・山形県酒田市、東田川郡三川町・新潟県村上市、岩船郡山北町[調査項目]・格表現(目的格助詞コト・トコの用法/方向・場所格助詞サの用法)・推量表現(推量辞デロの用法)・原因理由表現(サカイ系接続助詞の用法)以上のうち、目的格助詞コト・トコに関する文法化の現象について、標準語の「のこと」の用法との比較において考察した「「のこと」とトコの文法化の方向性-標準語と方言の文法化現象の対照研究-」を研究論文として発表した。以下に概要を示す。[論文の概要]東北地方を中心に、目的語を表示する格助詞としてコト・トコ類の表現を用いる方言がある。このコト・トコ類の表現には、前接名詞が有情物に限られるという制約がある。この制約は、標準語の「のこと」の一部の用法が持っている制約と同じものであると考えられる。一方、秋田方言の目的語格助詞トコは、現在、次のような段階を踏んで用法の変化が進みつつある。1)目的語が有情物である場合に限って用いられていたものが、他動性の高い述語から始まって、目的語が非情物の場合にも用いられる汎用の格助詞へと変化する(老年層)。2)目的語を表す汎用の格助詞であったものが、他動性の低い述語から始まって、トコ自体の使用が失われていく(中・若年層)。標準語と方言の対照を通じて、名詞「こと」が方言において格助詞化していく過程と、方言で格助詞化した形式が標準語の浸透により用法を狭めていく過程に、文法化現象の段階的進行を観察することができる。
