前年度での研究・調査実績を踏まえ,今年度は,日本の製造企業におけるジャスト・イン・タイム(JIT)技術を国際移転するに当たり,国レベルでの「文化」要因(「日本文化」)が技術移転先国における文化とコンフリクトをおこすか否か,またコンフリクトが発生する場合には,具体的にどのようなコンフリクトが発生し,それに対する処置が組織的になされているかを調査することに実態調査上の焦点を絞って研究を進めた。技術移転プロセスの全体像を理解しようと知れば,これらの問題を先に検討しなければならないことが,文献調査・インタビュー調査等を通じ,判明したためである。その結果,とりわけ日本古来の「集団主義」的文化を企業文化として強く有している組織においては,欧米諸国に加えアジア諸国(とりわけ中国)への工場等事業所の進出においても,現地人マネジャーとの間にある種のコンフリクトを抱えているケースが多いことがわかった。それに対する日本企業のリアクションとしては,特に積極的な対策は採られていないことも判明した。同じアジア文化圏に属すると処理されることが多い日本と中国であるが,中国の方がより欧米的な個人主義的発想に基づく経営システムがとられており,そのことが技術移転に際しても鍵要因として効いている可能性が高いことが,文献調査およびインタビュー調査等を通じ明らかにされた点の1つである。ただし,文化の他の次元(たとえば「組織階層」次元)においては,中国は必ずしも欧米諸国の文化と類似しているわけではなく,日本文化と類似している側面も存在することも同時に明らかにされた。今後は,技術移転に果たす文化の役割の総合的・統一的な理解と,文化以外の制度的側面(たとえば教育訓練制度)にも焦点を当て,間口を広げた検討が必要となることも今回の調査を通じ明らかとなった。
