Mysticism and literature in modern France

In studying the meaning, purpose or limits of literature, one must take into account the momentous influence of mysticism on western literature from the Middle Age to the modern era. Our core corpus focused on the 16th, 17th and 18th centuries. Close attention was also paid to the influence of mysticism on modern literature.
