项目摘要

今年度の第一の成果は、貨幣乗数と金融政策効果の低下の原因を銀行のパネルデータを用いて検証する分析をほぼ完成させ、国際的な学会であるFar Eastern Meeting of the Econometric Society(ソウル)で報告し、有意義なコメントを得たことである。現在はこれらコメントをもとに最終稿を完成させ、これを国際的な学術誌に投稿しようとしているところである。第二の成果としては、同様の問題意識から家計のミクロデータを分析した研究が挙げられる。この研究からは少なくとも次の3本の論文が派生する予定である。(1)家計の現金需要と銀行預金・郵便貯金需要を詳細に分析した論文がほぼ完成状態にあり、専門家からのコメントを仰いでいる段階である。この論文は低金利や金融不安に対する家計の資産選択の反応に関して貴重な情報を提供するものと考えている。(2)家計の株式・債券・投資信託の3市場への参加の程度がどのように決定されるかをヘックマンの2段階推定法を用いて分析している。これらの市場への家計の参加を促進するにはどのような政策や制度設計が求められるかが明らかになることが期待される。(3)最近になってこれまでのデータセットよりもデータのカバー範囲では劣るもののより詳細な質問項目を有するデータセットを入手したので、これを用いて個別金融機関の財務指標と家計の預金選択・金融機関選択の間の関係を明らかにする研究を計画中である。第三に、日本の金融政策の東アジア諸国への波及に関する理論的研究を進めた。特に、日本と東アジアの間の取引も含めて国際的な取引がほとんど米ドル建てで行われていることに注目し、その点を考慮した上で東アジアにとっての最適な通貨制度は何か、を再考した論文を執筆した。この論文は上記国際学会で報告した。同時に、その内容を平易に概説した論文を同時に執筆した。これは小川英治氏・福田慎一氏編著の単行本に掲載する予定である。第四に、東京大学のR.Anton Braun氏との共同研究で、日本において技術的ショックが総労働時間に与える影響について分析した論文を発表した。現在はこの研究を発展させ、投資財生産部門に特有な技術的ショックをモデルに導入することで日本の「失われた10年」をよりよく理解しようとする研究を行っている。
