本研究は、社会学を中心に様々な研究領域に影響を与えているエスノメソドロジーに基づく会話分析(Ethnomethodologically oriented Conversation Analysis)に関して、H.Sacksの発想をプラグマティズムの原点にさかのぼり、言語哲学や言語学(特に語用論や機能言語学)との接点を見出しながら理論的に探化させるとともに、C.Goodwinらが始めたフィールドにおけるビデオデータを用いた「会話分析」の技法を方法論的・系統的に洗練させることが目的としている。そのため本年度は、まず(E.A.Schegloffを中心とした)会話分析の社会理論としての基礎付けについて考察し、日本社会学会大会において「社会理論としての会話分析:実践の中の社会と時間」というタイトルで発表を行った。この中で会話を扱う他の社会・言語理論と比較して時間の取り扱い、特に現在性を強調する点で特徴があり、TCUを「要素」とする要素還元主義的な方向性を持っていることを指摘した。これは、会話分析の理論的基礎を解明する上で重要な転換点になると考える。また、会話分析の技法に関しても実際のデータを用いながら研究を進めていった。特に今年度は高次脳機能障害(特に脳外傷)者の作業所におけるミーティングのビデオを、会話分析の手法を用いながら、身体動作を含めた相互行為(interaction)をいかに分析するかということに関して考察を行った。この成果の一部は、マンチェスター大学で行われたエスノメソドロジー・会話分析国際学会や日本心理学会で発表を行い、同時に論文となった。これに加え、エスノメソドロジー・会話分析関係の未刊行論文アーカイブのデジタル化を行った。このアーカイブはマンチェスター大学のW.Sharrock教授との共同研究でより包括的な資料へと改訂していく予定である。
