今年度は以下の2点について研究を行った。第一に、わが国精神医学の黎明期にあたる20世紀初頭から第1次世界大戦後までを対象に、精神医学領域における教育病理学および治療教育学の形成・展開に関する研究である。呉秀三およびその門下の論調、精神病者救治会や児童研究会の活動、感化教育実践などを主な分析対象とし、精神医療の社会化と障害研究・障害児研究の関連構造について検討した。その結果、呉らの尽力による精神医療の社会化は、(1)小児研究に関しては障害児や不良少年など特殊児童問題の社会化として顕在化したこと、(2)教育病理学・治療教育学研究が欧来理論の翻訳・摂取から松沢病院院内学級や各地感化院などで実践化されるという質的転換の契機となったこと、などを解明した。これらについては、「戦前期日本の精神病学領域における教育病理学・治療教育学の形成に関する研究」として論文化した。第二に、第1次世界大戦後から終戦までを対象に、治療教育学の進展と治療教育実践の展開に関する研究である。これについては、小児科医・精神科医でありかつ治療教育実践に携わった三田谷啓・杉田直樹・池田千年などの治療教育思想を主な分析対象として、「戦前期日本の精神医学領域における治療教育思想の展開に関する研究(仮題)」を論文化している最中である。
