项目摘要

研究の背景第一に、中国の台頭や地域経済統合などの新しい潮流に積極的に対応するにせよ、逆であるにせよ、これまで操業してきたアジア生産体制には歴史的経路依存性がある。そのため、日本自動車メーカーのアジア戦略とその国際分業を歴史的に検討することが求められる。第二に、中国を「世界の工場」とする単なる「イメージ」をいたずらに強調することよりも、最新の貿易通関統計を用いて、当該地域における自動車製品のアジア諸国間相互貿易構造を明らかにし、そのなかで中国の存在を実態面から捉える必要がある。研究課題[A]日本自動車メーカーのアジア戦略は2つの方向性をもつ。第一は中国向け戦略である。第二はASEAN諸国向け戦略である。この2つの戦略について(1)どのような差異があるのか、(2)現在、統合されつつあるのか、といった諸点を明らかにする。[B]自動車とエレクトロニクス産業との国際分業の差異を明らかにする。前者は輸入代替型かつクローズドアーキテクチャー型の製品である。後者は輸出主導型かつオープンアーキテクチャー型製品であり、その国際分業の論理はまったく異なる可能性がある。成果従来の国際分業分析は、データ入手の困難性によって、日本とタイとの貿易、日本と中国との貿易・・・というように日本を中心とするハブ状分析にとどまってきた。ここからはアジア諸国の日本に対する自動車製品の供給力しか分析できない。これに対して、本研究では主要なアジア7カ国・地域を網羅するデータを入手し、それらの二国間相互貿易を統一的な単位で押さえた上で、それをマトリックス的に配置した。これにより、単なるハブ状データに依拠した分析の限界を乗り越えて、より実態に即した貿易構造を明らかにし、そこから得られる含意を考察した。
