平成17年度は、当初の研究計画に従い、学術誌掲載論文を上梓した(「客観的現在と心身相関の同時性」,科学基礎論研究,2005)。本稿では、クオリアの物的一元論化における、トークン同一性やスーパーヴィーン概念の不注意な使用が、心身の時間系列を二元論化してしまう問題を指摘している。さらにそこでは、素朴な心身二元論が、心身の時間の一元化に果たす役割も明示される。また本年度は、山口大学時間学研究所主催の講演会において、口頭発表を行った(発表題目「因果・作用・決定」)。上記の研究発表に加え、本年度は、共編訳による翻訳論文集の作成に従事した(『現代形而上学論文集』,勁草書房,2006)。本書の収録論文には、D.デイヴィドソン、D.ルイス、J.キムらといった、国内でも既に評価の高い論者の手によるものだけでなく、P.ヴァンインワーゲン、E.W.プライア、T.メリックスといった、今後の評価が期待される論者の論稿も含まれており、国内研究の今後に対する提言的内容となっている。現在の研究内容を大まかに列挙するなら、以下の三つの領域に大別することが可能である。(1)心身相関(とりわけ心的状態と脳状態との相関関係)の時間的同時性に関する、心的状態成立時点の遅延可能性に関する議論、(2)物理主義的決定論に依存しないかたちでの自由意志概念の消去、および倫理的責任の位置づけの議論、(3)自著(「タイムトラベルの哲学」,講談社,2002)での研究を、時制の記述可能性の観点から再構築したもの。これらの研究領域は、博士論文の課題において統合される予定である。
