視線によって引き起こされる注意が空間定位と物体認知に及ぼす影響について検討した論文を、国際専門誌Psychologiaに投稿し、現在審査を受けている(論文表題"Effects of gaze perception on response to location or feature")。論文では、ターゲットの位置/特徴に選択的に反応する際に視線刺激を提示する実験から、視線の効果は位置への反応には有効に働くが、特徴への反応には影響しないことを明らかにした。視線知覚を司る上側頭溝は、空間視と物体視に関わる皮質経路が収束する領域であり、これら二つの視覚機能を統合する役割があると考えられている。実験の結果から、空間視と物体視に対する視線の知覚過程の関与を議論した。陰影による形態処理が比較的初期の段階に行われることは数多く報告されているが、トップダウンの影響があることはこれまで見出されていない。そこで、陰影による形態知覚に対する参照枠の影響を検討した。-45/45度上方を光源とする凹凸刺激の探索を行う際に、-45/0/45度に傾いたバイオロジカルモーション刺激をターゲット位置の参照枠とする実験を行った。その結果、参照枠の傾き方向が光源の方向と一致する場合、一致しないときよりも反応時間が早くなることがわかった。次に、この結果が参照枠に基づくトップダウンの影響なのか、バイオロジカルモーション知覚の影響なのかを検討した。バイオロジカルモーションを探索課題に無関連な刺激として実験を行ったところ、バイオロジカルモーション自体は反応時間に影響しないことが明らかとなった。これらの結果は、参照枠の座標に基づくトップダウン処理が網膜座標系の前注意的過程に対して働くことを示唆している。以上の研究成果について、日本基礎心理学会において発表し、現在、国際専門誌Psychological Researchへの投稿を準備している。
