The project examines the production of spaces of skilled labor migration using the example of the recruitment and mobility of physicians. The aim is to understand how certain spaces of migration are produced and become relevant in the context of globally increasing demand and recruitment of health professionals, and what consequences this has for mobility options. The project is based on a translocal qualitative case study on the interplay of different actors and contexts in potentially interconnected regions of origin and destination: Belgrade as well as Novi Sad in Serbia and rural regions in Bavaria and Lower Saxony in Germany.
