项目摘要

同じ対象への注意を他者と共有することを「共同注意(joint attention)」という。共同注意研究に関して,先行研究では「同じ対象を見る」という視覚的な共同注意のみが扱われており、聴覚や触覚などの感覚モダリティによる共同注意が看過されてきたことを踏まえ、本研究では視覚モダリティを越えた視点から共同注意について明らかにすることを目的とした。国立特殊教育総合研究所などの協力を得、視覚障害を持つ乳幼児とその母親を研究協力者として募り、昨年度より3名の児とその母親の行動観察を継続している。対象児や研究方法の性質上、研究協力者と十分なラポールを形成し倫理面でも慎重に配慮を行った。手続きとしては、1、2ヵ月に1回の頻度で家庭訪問を行い、母子のおもちゃ遊び場面をビデオカメラにより撮影した。データを分析した結果、視覚障害児の母親には健常児の母親にはほとんど見られない「触覚・聴覚による注意喚起行動」を行っており、視覚障害児にとって母親のそのような注意喚起行動が、共同注意を成立させるために有効であることが判明した。また、母親の注意喚起行動に対する反応として、視覚障害児にはいくつかの行動特徴があること見出した。共同注意は、子どもが外界情報について学び、概念形成を行う過程において非常に重要な役割を果たすため、本研究によって得られた知見を視覚障害児の発達支援に応用することは有益である。また本研究によって得られた結果について、国内外の学会などで発表を行った。
