多くの研究情報を効率的に調査・研究・活用するために、引き続き基盤整備に努めた。そのため、『五山文学新集』『群書類従』(正・続)など、各種僧伝を含む史料類等の基本的な図書の購入を進めた。また、僧伝研究情報の収集のため、奈良県奈良市西の京薬師寺および大阪府大阪市武田科学振興財団を訪れ、調査を行った。データベース構築では、引き続き『元亨釈書』伝部に焦点をしぼり、各僧伝の登場人物について入力を進めた。具体的には、僧侶の人名ごとにデータを切り出し、その活動等の情報に関する本文を対応させてデータを蓄積した。今年度は最終年度に当たるため、3年間蓄積してきたデータを整理・総括した。すなわち、本データベースは、伝部のうち「慧解」から開始し、「感進」「明戒」「壇興」「方応」「力遊」までの入力を完了した。例えば、[(項目)義淵(読み)ぎえん(出典)元亨釈書慧解二之-(年月日)999999999(伝記情報)世姓阿氏、和州高市郡人]という具合にデータを作成している。他の説話類や僧伝等との相互的な検索により、個々の僧伝の比較研究ができるようなシステムとなっている。また、本研究に関連して参加してきた中世宗教史研究会においては、僧伝関連史料としても重要な「曼殊院文書」の講読や参加者の個別研究の蓄積を踏まえて、研究代表者が編者となり、『中世の寺院と都市・権力』(五味文彦氏と共編)出版の準備を進めた。また同じく、古代・中世の往生伝・『法華験記』や説話集、種々の文書・記録・典籍等の僧伝にも関連する歴史史料の調査・研究を踏まえて研究代表者が従来から発表してきた諸論考に、東大寺の持経者の活動を、個々の僧侶の伝記等に即して具体的に明らかにした新稿などを交えて、『中世仏教の原形と展開』出版の準備を進めた。
