We have made the data base of Japanese Electoral Pledges which candidates stated as their own "personal manifests" in public electoral bulletins at the general elections from 2000 to 2005. In this report, we explain the making process and the present condition of this data. At first, descriptive statistics of this data set are presented. Then the aim and significance are considered, especially in comparison with other data sets of the Japanese policy space. We regard these electoral promises as the lists of political demands that Japanese politicians recognized before general elections. Next, we show how to make the data concretely, -collection, input, coding, converting and edit. In our data, policies in the platforms are classified and labeled by their targets, contents and directions. Finally current questions, further improvements and expected research plans are examined.
