项目摘要

今年度も引き続き株式リスクがもたらすリターンプレミアムについての研究を行った。以前から、株式の時価が簿価に比べて低い企業の株式(バリュー株)はハイリスク・ハイリターンであることが実証研究で明らがになっていたが、その経済学的メカニズムは明らかにされていなかった。しかし近年それを経済合理的な投資家を仮定した上で理論的に説明するモデルが発表されており、今後この分野の研究はますます盛んになると考えられている。今年度、私はそのモデルを用いて、以前から研究していた株式リターンと信用リスクの関係についてのパズルを説明する新たな理論モデルを構築することに成功した。金融経済学では、リターンは将来のリスクに対する見返りと考えられ、リスクが高いほど高いリターンが期待される。しかし、信用リスクと株式リターンの関係について実証研究の結果は逆であり、信用リスクが高い企業は株式リターンが低くなっていることが報告されている。これは、近年新たな株式リターンアノマリーとして学会で認識されてきた。このアノマリーについて、私は前述のバリュー株に関する理論モデルを応用したフレームワークの下でモデルを構築し、信用リスクとバリュー株効果が密接な関係を持つものとする理論を論文としてまとめた。今後は、この理論モデルが各国データと整合的であるかどうかの実証研究を行うと共に、理論モデルをブラッシュアップし完成度の高いものにしていく必要があると考えている。
