プロテアーゼ遺伝子をHIV-1由来にした新規SHIV-prをサルへ順化した。逆転写酵素とインテグラーゼの各遺伝子をHIV-1由来に置換した新規SHIV-rti接種サル1頭でエイズ様症状を呈して死亡したことから発症モデル開発の可能性が示唆された。プロテアーゼ、逆転写酵素、インテグラーゼの各遺伝子をHIV-1由来にした新規SHIV-prtiのサルへの順化を試み、サル個体において弱いながらも感染可能であることを確認した。
