不正乱視に対する治療的屈折矯正手段の基礎的研究として、波面センサーを用いて正常と涙液層異常を呈する疾患に対して測定を行ったところ、涙液層の病態に応じて特有の高次収差の経時的変化が認められ、治療においてもこれらを考慮する必要が示唆された。また、高次収差の特徴を把握するため、Zernike多項式のベクトル解析を行ったところ、各成分が収差量と軸として表現可能となり、治療の際に有用と考えられるだけでなく、角膜前、後面の高次収差の代償関係や、円錐角膜等疾患における特徴を把握した。
