The purpose of this research is to develop tissue conditioner with moisture effect kir dry mouth.In 2006, we conducted the research concerning a non-alcohol tissue conditioner to improve the durability. This study was evaluated by means of setting characteristics using the displacement rheometer and dynamic viscoelastic properties using the non-resonance forced vibration method. This tissue conditioner is applied for longer period than the previous one because this material does not contain the ethyl alcohol in the liquids. A part of the results has been published in Journal of Dentistry. We also established the evaluation method of viscosity of oral moisture gel and denture adhesives having lower viscosity. This measurement has been conducted by means of a Sine-wave Vibro Viscometer.In 2007, the water absorption, solubility and compatibility with dental stones of tissue conditioners were evaluated. A part of the results is planned to be publishes in Dental Materials Journal. The relationship between composition and mechanical properties of the heat-polymerized and auto-polymerized acrylic denture liners has been evaluated. These results have been presented in the congress and now the paper is being prepared. The viscosity is very important for the evaluation of these materials in addition to the physical properties after setting. The viscosity of commercial oral moisture gel and cream type denture adhesives was determined. We plan to conduct clinical test using trial tissue conditioner. The evaluation method of masticatory function was established and this has been presented in Journal of Oral Rehabilitation. The suitable composition of trial tissue conditioner has been determined from the experimental results. We are conducting the experiment concerning the effect of moisture materials and evaluating the mechanical properties.
