项目摘要

本研究は,若年者のキャリア発達支援のために,特に高校と大学の接続過程における進路選択と,その選択に至るまでの過程と結果に注目する。18歳人口の約半数が高等教育機関へと進学する現在,若年者のキャリア発達については高等教育機関まで含めた形で支援を考えていかなければならない課題である。本年度は,昨年度に引き続き,大学進学希望者に関する基本データ収集のため,選抜区分ごと(推薦,一般選抜)の特性の違いについて,入学初年次に実施されるTOEICの成績を基に検討を行った。熊谷ほか(2007)は,導入初年度の大学入試センター試験(以下,センター試験)の英語と新潟大学で全学的に実施されたTOEICの結果,および共通英語の成績との関係を検討しているが,本年度は,導入2年目にあたる2006年度についても同様の検討を行い,2年間のデータについて,比較した。2006年度は,新学習指導要領に沿って学習をした高校生が初めて大学に入学した年であり,2005,2006年度は,旧課程履修者と新課程履修者の切り替え時期となっていた。しかし,新潟大学のTOEICのデータをみる限りでは,入学後の1学期間,英語学習をした後の,旧課程履修者と新課程履修者の英語の運用能力には,大きな差はみられないことが明らかになった。また,大学の募集要項の請求時期と合格率との関係からは,出願大学に対する進学希望の確定度が,合格率に関連していることが示唆された。
